Baby Boomers are in retirement age. They approach to social and residential choices is different than their parents. Socially many are on their second relationship and are enjoying travel with their partners. Boomers frequently opt for living in warm urban environments where they may not require the use of a car. Being close to a city center appeals to them. Several Boomers are having fun experimenting with different careers and volunteering. No matter where Boomers decide to live they do not want stairs. They want single story living. In their parent's day that was less of an option. Today Boomers seek out simple elegance in their residences and that does not include stairs. In the San Diego market it is challenging to find a detached home that is single story and will appeal to Boomers. Most decide to live in downtown San Diego or Coronado where single story living is available. Both downtown San Diego and the Coronado Village offer plenty of options to Boomers that are close together .Baby Boomers invested and took the necessary steps to enjoy their retirement. Steps on a staircase are not included in their plans.
